Brute Force

Abuse me for I will not care.
Curse me when I stray from fair.
Brute force won’t put me in my place.
Smooth and even wins the race.
Envy colors where I rest.
No sandy beaches for the best.

    I don’t think it could be atmosphere or air because what would be the need of the “beaches” reference…Ocean seems just a little too obvious for this RIDDLE (which is a misdirection), but I honestly have no clue what this could be.
